WSOP 2008: Nguyen Wins 50k HORSE Event

In an event that is commonly known within the poker community as proving who the best player in the world is, Scotty Nguyen won in fine style. The $50 000 HORSE event went for a gruelling five days, which in the end gave Nguyen his fifth WSOP bracelet. Nguyen had to fight strong competition from the likes of Huck Seed, Erick Lindgren and PokerStars pro Barry Greenstein. Nguyen won $1 989 120 USD for picking up first place.

Winning this prestigious tournament puts Nguyen up there with the biggest names in poker and gives him the title of best poker player in the world for at least 12 months. The event also gave Nguyen the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy in memory of the great poker player. Nguyen outlasted the best players in modern poker to win this event, so he deserves all the accolades he receives.
