WSOP 2008 – Event #37: Aussie Gray Finishes 3rd

The $10 000 Omaha Hi-lo saw David Benyamine win his first WSOP of bracelet. The Full-Tilt pro was possibly the best current player to not have won a WSOP bracelet. You can often find him playing high stakes Omaha on Full Tilt and winning a packet load. However, until now the bracelet had eluded him. For winning his first bracelet he collected $535 678 USD.

Australian poker player Jason Gray finished this tournament in 3rd place, a superb effort from the Sydney boy. For finishing in 3rd place he brings home a cool $209 855 USD. Lets hope this is the sign of good things to as the WSOP Main event approaches.

This event saw poker professional Ram Vaswani as chip leader going into the final two tables. He couldn’t hold onto that lead though and by the final table came around he was the shortstack. In a final table that also had Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matusow, the tournament was down to the final two when Aussie Jason Gray was finally eliminated. He went out when his nut flush draw and gutshot draw didn’t improve against David Benyamine. Benyamine would go onto win the tournament when he proved too strong for 2nd place finisher Greg Jamison.
