WSOP 2008, Event #2, $1,500 NLHE – 18 Left

On the 2nd day of play in the WSOP event #2 there are 18 players remaining. Play stopped at 6am after a player vote to stop play. Officials were trying to get the field down to a final table but were unsuccessful because of the large amount of entries.

With 3929 players registering in the tourney, day 2 started with the largest amount of players outside of the Main Event in history. The biggest name that is still kicking on in this history breaking tourney is Chris “Jesus” Ferguson. He has 444 000 chips, a fair bit behind chip leader Aaron Coulthard who has 1.37mil in chips.

Australia’s own Mark “pokerbok” Vos finished in 146th place after losing two all ins with A-5 both times. The first time he ran into 77 and the second time he ran into A-Q. This is still a pretty good effort considering the size of the field. We wish him the best of luck for the rest of this year’s WSOP.

The final table will be underway soon, and you can be sure to get the result here at pokershark.com.au. I hope Full Tilt’s Chris Ferguson does well as he is one of my favourite players. Goodluck and well done to all remaining players.
