WSOP 2008 Event #18 – Aussies Represent

The $5000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw with Rebuys turned out to be a star studded event packed with big names at the final table. Mike “The Mouth” Matusow ended up winning the event for a $537 862 USD pay day. He had to beat the experience of plays like Erick Lindgren, David Benyamine and PokerStars professional Barry Greenstein.

He also had to contend with the two Aussie at the final table. Both Jeff Lisandro and Tony Guoga (Tony G) made the final table to give Australian poker players someone to cheer for. Tony G finished in 6th place and collected $78 075 USD for his hard work. Jeff Lisandro however, faired a lot better than his Aussie counterpart and was heads up with The Mouth. He lost this battle and was runner up for $347 004 USD. Congratulations to both Aussie players for their outstanding effort in event #18 at the 2008 WSOP.
