Mark Vos

Mark Vos was born in Cape Town, South Africa and currently resides in Brisbane, Australia. “Pokerbok” as he is known in the online poker world, has stormed onto the poker scene in recent years. In 2006 he won the $2,000 NLHE event, taking home US$803,274. This is Mark’s biggest result to date and he is very well known as a high stakes online poker player.

He plays online at Full Tilt where his name is in red because he is a FT friend, and he can be seen online for around 35 hours each week. Mark was studying at Actuarial studies at Macquarie University until he deferred indefinitely to play poker full time. No doubt that the math skills that he has developed has resulted in him being able to make more correct, calculated decisions. Mark has come a long way from when he started playing poker at live poker games with his friends. Vos is one of the youngest players to have won a WSOP bracelet and he won over US$1million in 2006. After winning the 2006 WSOP bracelet he claimed that he would play poker for the next 5 years and set himself up for the rest of his life. Mark is a very cool, calm and collected player and his results certainly reflect this.
