Full Tilt Poker has just announced their plan to run the biggest buy-in heads up poker event in history. The heads up championship will start a week after the completion of FTOPS VIII on the 24th and 25th of May 2008. The event will run over this weekend with an unprecedented buy-in of 25k.
Chris ‘Jesus” Ferguson will host the event. He is the current National Heads Up Champion and he will be playing in the event alongside Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman and Howard Lederer. The field will be limited to 64 contestants which encourages players to enter early. If the number of 16, 32 and 64 players are not reached, the players that register in between these brackets will receive a refund. This procedure is put in place so there is an even amount of players and noone has a bye.
Full Tilt will be running $535 qualifiers if you don’t have the bankroll for the direct buy-in of 25k. These will be running in the lead up to the event so keep a look out for them. The event will also be recorded and the key hands will be replayed with commentary by Phil Gordon.
