Australian poker player Billy ‘The Croc’ Argyros was unluckily knocked out in 4th place of the $10 000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. With 4 players left in event #50 Agryros got all his chips in preflop ahead of his oppenent Michael Mizrachi. Argyros held AA66 while Mizrachi had KQJ7. The flop put Argyros even further ahead when an ace landed, but Mizrachi hit runner runner flush to knock the Aussie out. The Croc played well throughout the tournament and he collected $268 605 for finishing in 4th place.
The eventual winner of the event tournament was Marty Smyth, an Irish professional poker player who has had some good results outside of the WSOP, but until this tourney, had been unable to make an impact on the series. He fought off strong competiton from the likes of second place finisher Peter Jetton who was the shortstack for a lot of the final table.
Well done to Billy ‘The Croc’ Argyros for finishing in 4th place and continuing Australia’s strong representation at the 20008 WSOP.
